Small Batch Manufacturing

If you’re new to the world of making and don’t understand how it works, I created this great resource for you as a start!

We know a thing or two about construction.

This division is small and new - the skills are not. 20 years of sewing experience and six years of working directly with fashion designers and manufacturers has taught us a few things about sewing great quality pieces, what’s scalable, and what intuitive fashion design looks like.

You’re charged according to your project’s…

  • complexity

  • timeline

  • # of pieces

Our workspace is an old cotton mill just one mile from downtown Nashville.

Our industrial setup includes…

- Juki 8700D straight stitch
- Yamata straight stitch
- Juki walking foot
- Consew CN2053 zigzag
- Union Special blind hemmer
- Wilcox & Gibbs Pegasus 5 thread serger
- Kansai NW8803GMG 3 needle/5 thread coverstitch

Please note…

The amount of requests we’ve gotten for small batch manufacturing is beyond overwhelming (in the best way). While we now only manufacture for few designers on a case by case basis, we’re still committed to helping designers actualize their ideas - without the bravado.

Regardless of whether we’re a good fit for your small batch, we can still assist you with tech packing, patterning, sampling, and pattern grading. When your design (or full collection) is truly ready to manufacture, we’ll bring you the shortlist of manufacturers that we feel would be best suited for your type of garment.

If we’re a match for manufacturing your designs…

No order minimums

I’m really excited about this part. I believe manufacturers have a responsibility to equip designers and problem-solvers to actualize their ideas - whether they want just one or hundreds of that garment. We’re set up to accommodate your vision with transparent lead times, cost-effective insights, and no minimum order quantities.

We truly want to give you a leg up as you build your idea - without the financial strain of a bulk order. To pull this off, we a la carte every service you need to bring your idea from sketch to sample. By paying as you go, it makes the process more digestible, and allows you to stop and start as needed. The more product you order, the more economical it gets.

Made with love in Nashville, Tennessee. Always.

There are two ways we go about making things.

Tier 1

IMG_1558.jpeg

You already have a tech pack, a sample garment, and materials in-hand and ready to

go.

Email us your tech pack and your timeline. We’ll be in touch shortly after we review it to get your patterns, materials, and notions (and sew-by sample if you have one).

This is the most economical form of manufacturing since we know exactly what to do the moment your project hits the floor. If you already have all of this put together, we’ll quote you the cost of a sample. We cannot give you per unit costs if we’ve never made the item, but will have one the moment we finish that sample.

Tier 2

You have a sketched idea.

Okay. We can work with that, but understand upfront you’re a long ways off from having a product in-hand and ready to sell.

If you’re starting from square uno, you’re going to need a tech pack created for each design. We build tech packs, source wholesale, and consult/answer your questions at a rate of $150/hour. Simply contact us to book a call.

From there, we can build a tech pack, begin fabric sourcing, and start pattern making. We bill by the step upfront. After all of this work is complete, we can run a test garments, and get you in for a fitting.
